We assessed in detail the presentation of cardiac complications and the impact of MIS-C during subsequent waves of the pandemic on die quality of life and the incidence of long-COVID. Based on the data obtained, it was found that the clinical course of MIS-C in the first waves of the pandemic (original/Alpha and Delta) was comparable and remained a serious, life-threatening condition. A positive correlation was found between the age of patients and the occurrence of cardiac failure with systolic function impairment and/or hypotension. However, regardless of the period of the pandemic, rapid disappearance of symptoms of cardiac failure was observed, and other cardiac abnormalities resolved within a few weeks. No new cardiac abnormalities were found during the entire follow-up period. A high incidence of long-COVID symptoms after MIS-C was demonstrated in the entire study population. At the same time, in long-term follow-up based on the results of a standardized questionnaire, it was found that the quality of life of patients was not worse than that of the general population. These long-COVID symptoms are non-specific, which can lead to overdiagnosis.}, title={Short- and long-term complications after multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children depending on individual variants of SARS-CoV-2}, type={Praca doktorska}, keywords={multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children, SARS-CoV-2, Variants of Concern, long-COVID, cardiac complication}, }
