The dissertation presents a theoretical analysis and a research part. The first chapter is a reflection on primary health care, its concept, development in the Polish health care system, including legal regulations, and the current state of primary health care in Poland. Chapter II is dedicated to the competences of medical and medical-related staff, with particular emphasis on the phenomenon of skill mix both in Poland and in the world. Chapter III is devoted to the concept of coordinated care, pointing to examples of initiatives in this field in Poland and in the world. Chapter IV is a description of the POZ PLUS pilot program, which tested coordinated care in selected POZ facilities in the years 2018-2021, and its effects, which led to systemic changes at the level of primary health care. Chapter V is devoted to the research conducted for the purposes of the dissertation. Its characteristics (aim, study group, questionnaire used) and results are described. The last part is a discussion on the phenomenon of cross-competence among healthcare professionals, with particular emphasis on PHC personnel, which is caused by the growing needs of patients and an attempt to strengthen primary health care. There are also compares the results of research conducted for the purposes of the dissertation with the World Bank's assessment of the POZ PLUS pilot program.
