The presented dissertation, entitled “The impact o f radiofreąuency electromagneticfield (JRF-EMF) emitted by mobile phones on the hearing system” is a monothematic series of three original papers: two experimental studies and one systematic review with meta-analysis. The first study discusses the impact of short-term exposure to RF-EMF emitted by a mobile phone on acoustic admittance testing and evoked otoacoustic emissions (EOAEs) results. The systematic review and meta-analysis present methods used to assess the exposure to RF-EMF emitted by mobile phones and analyze the relationship between tinnitus and RF-EMF exposure using a meta-analytic approach. The third study assessed changes in the local skin temperaturo of the auricle region during a simulated phone cali under various scenarios using infrared thermography. Using a mathematical model and experimental data, the heat transfer between the handheld device and the auricle was described, highlighting the marginal role of RF-EMF in skin temperaturę changes.
